I had done this pastel back in the 90's and decided to spend a little time refining it before I rematted it and hung in our new home. I switched the matt to black which brought the colors much more intensely than the previous creme colored matt. I've read that other artists work on a painting several years later as well. It does feel a little odd but very rewarding since I do believe I know much more now artistically and can give it more of a feel of how I saw it before me on that lazy afternoon in the French Quarter.
