Apples from Gramma's yard

September 2008- My grandmother is 95 now and had to leave her home this spring for an assisted living facility... She has always been self sufficient, raising her farm animals and growing a large vegetable & flower garden. She lived there alone in the same house she grew up in that her father built. It's a huge chapter our life that is painful to see no longer exists, The house is empty, the yard is dry, the garden ceases to exist and the big old walnut tree that we used to sit under and husk corn is slowly dying. The only thing left with much life is the apple tree that I picked these few apples from. What great memories I have of staying at that place with her. Memories I will carry with me through eternity... Thank you Gramma, I love you

Hank the Piggy Bank

Our newest traveling companion Hank, he's been with me since I was little, I recently gave him a
new paint job and decided he was too cute to leave on the top shelf of the closet any longer, so I took him
on the road with us. I'll be documenting his own personal experiences on his blog at: Hank the piggy bank
